This project is part of Maxwell Reeve's Eagle Scout community service project.  Maxwell organized the help, gathered funding and planned out the construction of the new water tank at SCLS with the help of friends, scouts and parents of Troop 586. Maxwell is a member of Troop 586 in Redondo Beach and is well on his way to completing his final requirements for his Eagle Scout Award.

When I was a scout back in the 60s and 70s, only about 2% of all scouts made it all the way through to the rank of Eagle Scout. I would not be surprised if it is even less nowadays.  Many of our past presidents, astronauts and business leaders are also Eagle scouts. Once an Eagle Scout, always an Eagle Scout. It is an accomplishment to be proud of your entire life.

Well done Maxwell and thank you to you and all of the scouts and parents of Troop 586 that helped you on your path to Eagle Scout.

Below are some photos from the project.

The base is complete and now for the construction of the tank.

Putting the tank structure on the legs.

Nailing down the top of the tank structure.

Done for the day. Roof, tank, plumbing and tank wall and we are done.

Good job guys!

I used to be a rocket scientist, now I am just a space cadet.

You only need three tools in life - WD-40, Duct Tape, and a Hammer. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape. If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
