We got some stuff around the club done, Saturday, July 26th.

Howie got the wash out at the end of the tunnel fixed. I helped by cutting up some ties to act as the retaining wall. It looks very nice now.

We also installed a full size derailer by the water tower for riders to look at as they ride by on the trains. I put mulch on all of the fruit trees and I have been watering the apple tree by the oil pump. The apple tree looks like it will have a good crop this year, maybe enough that I can make a few apple pies for us all to try. I've got my fingers crossed on that.

Tim the tree trimmer  and new probee member Brandon worked all-day on  the trees by the bridge. There is now a big pile of limbs that need hauling to the dumpster.

Robert, Howie, Phil and  Tom worked on the track on the back side of the inner loop as it was getting rough. We also trimmed the mulberry trees along the siding.

Lonnie installed a new long switch arm on the figure 8 switch. Hopefully we get it powered up soon but this is a good fix for now.

I worked on the water drip line for the garden on the mound and it is starting to turn green. There were also a few little things that got fixed, on Sunday where I got the new dip line on the back fences working and added a drip line to the garden were the control tower will be built someday. Boy, it was looking dry there, I hope the plants come back now that they have water on a timer. I also put a drip line on the back side of the bathroom as the clump grass was looking dry too.

After the garden work I went out on Crenshaw and adjusted the track on the far passing siding, then I worked at clearing the steel track past the wiper. I got about half way to the end on both tracks. Man, there were a lot of leaves and branches to cut up and move. Very hard work, but I want to get running to the end of Crenshaw!

I had time Monday so I took my boys out to the club and let them run around while I installed the track on the new kitchen parking siding. The siding still needs some ties installed and a few more old used wood track panels installed before we park on it, but it looks cool. This siding shoud be great on loading the trains when having parties.

We are planning on being at the club Saturday, August 2nd,  if you have time to spare come out and give us a hand. Clap

Tom
