As some of you may know I have started work on the second phase of Crenshaw. I have begun laying track from the switch and have about 50' complete so far. There is another 50' with only the joints set. I am anchoring all the 2x4 joint ties first using 3/8 anchors into the existing asphalt surface. The club currently has enough track on-site to complete approximately 300', which will have the second line ending about 1/3 of the way up. I would like to purchase more track so we can go at least half way up. This will require spending $1000 to $1500 on track, but it should give us the ability to run 2 trains up Crenshaw back to back. My ultimate goal is to have the line setup so it's part of the normal run. We will also need to add some new signals to help keep things safe and control traffic. If anyone would like to help on this project let me know, I am thinking of making the 27th a dedicated day to Crenshaw maintenance and expansion, as long as the new tie material arrives by then.

Just a quick post to say thanks to all the people who have helped on Crenshaw over the past week. In about a weeks time we have managed to install over 300' of new track. We still have about 100' to go before the switch. Then its just a matter of compacting ballast and leveling the track. Great work guys.

Crenshaw may be un-useable this weekend!!! I am going to try to get the track laid and the switch installed this weekend. If you come to the club and go up Crenshaw be careful, I will be starting tomarrow and hopefully be done by the end of the weekend. There is about 90' of track to go before the switch, I dug out the mulch today, so now it's just a matter of laying track.

Steve if you want to bring the tie material back over to the shop we can cut it up real fast. Let me know. I am free tomorrow if you want to do it.

You only need three tools in life - WD-40, Duct Tape, and a Hammer. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape. If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

I cut up enough today to finish up on Crenshaw, but I plan on being at the club most of the day tomorrow if you are ready to flip your tender.
