That would sure be nice crowd for a donation run and make for a busy day. I wonder how long it would take to give all those people A ride?

this belongs to jerry smolyk who is mortican by profession, who is a club member from canada. All of his equipment is of canadian national railway road name, and yes it is beautiful.

Charlie: This locomotive was designed, built and castings sold by Ed Puryear in 1958. Parts were also sold by Bob Harper in Wilmington and finally by Little Engines. I built one of these in the 1960's when I was 14. It runs but has a serious design problem in the firebox. The crown sheet is an arch which leaves little space for both steam and water. I put very enlarged steam dome in the cab to take care of the steam problem but be sure that the axle pump, injector and hand pump are in working order. I've always wondered what happened to this locomotive, I'm looking forward to seeing her go!

If I recall, I think that Bob Harpur was a member of SCLS many years ago. There is a picture of him in the archives at a 1949 Golden Spike Ceremony. Check this out, he is #14 the one in the middle just to the left of Stan Chovil in the engineer hat.

this will be a great project. need to tke of injector and clean that and then run some pluming so steam can get into that thing. The axel pump needs alot of work from what i here but that shudnt be too much of a problem. soon well be adding a third rail!

i wanna see you draw up all that valve gear and etc on the buisness side! use my HO model for that and if u get a chance ill bring some track down to you and we can run it so you can get a better picture of how physically everything will be moving. They are relly crazy engines but pretty cool and ur gonna be a big dog steve when this thing is done!!!!
